The Youth Empowerment Partnership Programme (YEPP) is a multi-layer initiative of a consortium of European and US foundations and the International Academy at the Free University of Berlin, Institute for Community Education (INA gGmbH) operating under the auspices of the Network of European Foundations. INA is responsible for the programme development and the implementation; and hosts the Programme Director and Team along with the International Resource Centre.
The Youth Empowerment Partnership Programme was started by a group of foundations in 2000. The preparatory phase lasted until May 2001, followed by the first phase of implementation, evaluation and assessment from September 2001 until the end of 2006. During this time YEPP worked in 7 Local Sites in 6 countries.
Phase II of YEPP covers the period from 2007 to 2011. During this time YEPP has expanded to 19 Local Sites in 8 countries. In 2008 YEPP’s goals were refined to include youth empowerment, partnership and advocacy.
