This role is like no other in Vodafone - our Public Affairs Manager considers the impact of new legislation, policy changes and consultations on our Company. They frequently liaise with Government, MPs and key opinion makers in Whitehall and Westminster to ensure our voice of Vodafone is clearly heard, understood and that we're at the forefront of all telecom public policy issues.
Can you take this kind of challenge in your stride?
Supporting our Head of Public Affairs, you'll be managing our relationship with the UK Government, Parliament and devolved administrators, you'll input into a wide range of debates including internet safety and health telecare to national security and corporate responsibility. What's more, you'll proactively manage a variety of public affairs campaigns, implement a parliamentary programme and oversee the work of a co-ordinator who responds to MP correspondence.
This role will suit a talented communicator who has supported an MP or worked at an in-house consultancy. Above all, you must have experience of Whitehall and Westminster and understand legislation and the commercial implications for a world leading company such as ours. A background in a highly regulated sector would be a major plus, as would the ability to prioritise an ever-changing workload and liaise with executives, politicians and experts.
