UKCG is the principal trade body for construction contractors.  Its objective is to highlight the importance of construction to the UK economy, lobby on behalf of its members’ interests and to work with its members to improve the way construction is carried out.

The role is to help shape, facilitate and manage a portfolio of public policy initiatives and business improvement programmes for UKCG members.  These will include influencing government policy and new legislation, media relations and shaping member led initiatives on issues such as diversity, IT,  apprenticeships and utility issues.   There will be some opportunity for progression within UKCG subject to your performance in this role. 

The person will have worked with or in government for a significant period and have a good understanding of economics and commerce. You will be able to write exceptionally well and to convey complex messages to a wide audience.  Above all you will be confident and results driven and be able to persuade senior people in the industry that UKCG campaigns are worthwhile and business relevant.

The job is based in central London and there is a competitive remuneration package.
