This position is responsible for building professional relationships for TenCate Geosynthetics with key governmental organizations to develop new business opportunities. Position contacts include interaction with federal and state governmental transportation agencies, military construction organizations, key federal and state congressional offices, government affairs organizations, political action committees, contract consulting firms, and other TenCate personnel.
1. Coordinates relationships, strategies, and activities to achieve objectives defined by both Government Affairs and Geosynthetics for Legislation, Branding/Public Affairs, and Business Development.
2. Specifically, develops professional relationships with targeted governmental agencies including: a) Military Construction Organizations (US Army COE, SeaBees), b) Federal Transportation Organizations (US Department of Transportation, Federal Highway Administration, Federal Aviation Administration), c) Environmental Organizations (EPA, Department of Natural Resources), d) Homeland Security Organizations, in order to create new business opportunities for TenCate Geosynthetics.
3. Develops and implements strategy to increase and develop business opportunities in 1) Environmental Remediation/Clean-up Technologies; 2) Surface and non-surface transportation areas within USDOT; 3) Homeland Security; 4) Military Construction activities both in the United States and abroad.
4. Develops relationships with key congressional offices to increase the awareness of TenCate and the use of geosynthetics. Leads the development of messaging and public awareness required to meet objectives.
5. With TenCate Geoynsynthetics Management, identifies all potential federal government organizations (trade associations, caucuses, foreign embassies, special cause charities) and develops a plan to target and penetrate certain key organizations. Coordinates activities for final penetration plans.
6. Assures competent knowledge of using e-mail, voice-mail, and other electronic tools efficiently while traveling.
7. Recommends, develops, and monitors expense budgets. Ensures the proper and prudent use of travel and entertainment dollars.
8. Attends and represents the company at industry outings, trade functions and seminars as approved by Manager.
9. Fulfills all other duties and functions as assigned by Manager.

SPECIFICATIONS OF THE POSITION:
A. Minimum education required: College Degree
B. Minimum experience required: 15 years work experience
C. Description of working conditions/physical surroundings: office
D. Shift work: day
E. Contacts required inside or outside the Company: Experience and association with officials and offices within key governmental organizations such as the EPA, FHWA, US Army COE and/or USDOT.
