The Statoil EU Affairs Office is a small unit located in Brussels. The office is working on EU related topics of interest to Statoil. We work closely with Statoil's subsidiaries whose business is influenced by EU policies.

Type of employment: 12 months, temporary position (start date – April/May 2011).

Tasks/Responsibilities: Assist our professional staff and work independently on EU affairs. 

We are currently looking for a researcher to cover the development of the EU’s internal energy market, with a special emphasis on natural gas

Skills/Experience: Master's degree or equivalent. 

Personal qualities: Profound knowledge of EU institutions, preferably experience from working as a trainee within the EU system. The ideal candidate should also have dealt with energy related issues in some form. English is the working language of the office. Strong analytical abilities and communication skills are essential.

A professional, open and flexible attitude is highly valued in a small, multi-cultural office like ours. 

Career opportunities: After completion of the contract, a top performing researcher may be offered permanent employment within Statoil. This requires readiness to move to corporate headquarters.
