Our Brussels based EU Policy & Public Affairs team is looking for a full-time Policy Officer.

Start date: immediate

Reporting to the Head of EU Policy & Public Affairs, you will:

  • Be responsible for managing a range of policy portfolios, monitoring and analysing developments in the EU institutions and the European Committee for Standardisation (CEN) affecting the property sector
  • Work with RICS experts to prepare relevant, clear and concise position papers
  • Build and maintain an effective network of contacts and stakeholders to the benefit of RICS
  • Make regular contributions to a range of RICS communication channels
 
You will have:

  • At least 2-3 years experience in an EU institution, government relations or political influencing work
  • The ability to work on your own initiative to agreed outcomes, managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including business writing in English and ideally fluency in another European language
  • Experience of organising and managing networking and influencing events
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team in an international environment
  • The ability to work under pressure and deliver to deadlines
  • The confidence and poise to represent RICS effectively and professionally with people at all levels
