Understanding the Influences on Policy Making and Policy Makers –  n/a
This day will place delegates in a better position to understand the complex maze of interactions they are a part of, including the decision makers in Downing Street, the Treasury, the Civil Service and Local Government, and those trying to influence them like NGOs, society and the media.

This training session provides an overview of how to complete an impact assessment for policy proposals, in line with Better Regulation Executive guidelines. It considers the better policy making principles that enable effective impact assessment, and the questions that an impact assessment needs to address.

Understanding Policy Development – 30 June 2010
Gain a good understanding of the key features and stages of the policy making process in the UK, acquire skills to work on policy development effectively and efficiently and learn how to identify implementation issues during the development phase of policy.

Understanding Innovation in Policy – 6 July 2010
Ideal for delegates with some experience in policy work. Achieve a fresh look at policy issues you are working on, practice creative thinking techniques and interact with other policy teams, sharing ideas and discussing strategies.

Understanding Submissions and Briefings - 1 July 2010
This event blends instructive discussion on best practice, practical exercises and constructive feedback to give participants the confidence to produce effective submissions.
