The Planned Parenthood Action Fund is seeking a political operative with campaign/Hill experience, knowledge of fundraising, and excellent organizational skills including experience in board relations, project management and budget development.
Under the supervision of the National Political and Field Director, this position provides high-level programmatic support to the Action Fund Board of Directors, the Nominating Committee and the Action Fund PAC Committee to facilitate effective governance and fully maximize the involvement of national volunteers.
In addition, this position manages several projects including: all aspects of PPAF Board, Nominating Committee and PAC Committee communications; meeting with Congressional candidates, researching and writing recommendations on candidates and districts in order to make endorsement recommendations to the PAC Committee. This position will also network and build relationships with political operatives at other campaign committees and campaign managers of key races we are interested in order to deeply understand what is happening electorally and represent PPAF’s views.
This position, working closely with the President and Political and Organizing Director, will help to fundraise for the PAC and increase the PAC’s membership. This position will also help manage special projects like congressional events, convention activities, board retreats, congressional receptions and all political activities as well as oversee the intradepartmental development, implementation, and maintenance of the Public Policy database, including tracking the congressional votes used in the Congressional Scorecard for endorsements, and maintains current communications on the website.
Requires a Bachelor’s degree as well as 3-5 years of political campaign and/or operative experience. Must have directly-related, progressively responsible work experience working on a political campaign, project management, and/or public policy. Organizational and critical thinking skills are crucial.
