Details	Oil & Gas UK is the leading representative body for the UK's offshore oil and gas industry with offices in London and Aberdeen. Its members comprise a wide range of companies, including super majors and independent oil companies plus large contractors through to SMEs. We seek an exceptional political and public affairs professional to fulfill the role of External Affairs Manager. This is a significant new position reporting directly to the Communications Director. Together with their counterpart, the successful candidate will work in conjunction with the Oil & Gas UK directorates to take an active role in technical policy development and provide leadership on policy communication strategy and delivery. Working closely with the Press and PR teams they will deliver consolidated and powerful political and stakeholder communication in both a proactive and responsive manner across the range of directorate policy areas, covering the local, regional, national and European spectrums. Candidates should have a degree from a significant and recognised university (minimum 2.1) and have at least two years' government relations experience with a proven track record of successful advocacy. Current relationships with elected officials, government agency officials and policymakers would be an advantage. All candidates should have excellent communication skills, both oral and written, strong interpersonal skills and be an effective networker. They must also be able to think clearly, critically and decisively and be able to provide strong analytical insight.
