JTI is searching for a public affairs/government relations manager, based in Brussels, to interact at the European Parliament (EP) level on policy issues of relevance to our industry. We are looking for a dynamic and motivated manager with established networks in this institution and who is seeking a challenging work environment. The role will concern essentially tobacco related matters. Main responsibilities will include: Monitoring of EU policies and particularly EP procedures of relevance to our activities; Close follow up of relevant legislative developments Networking activities; Assist JTI’s Brussels EU Affairs team in advocacy assignments. Skills and qualifications of the candidate: Strong understanding and experience of EU decision making procedures and of inter-institutional relation; Advanced degree in political science, law, international relations or a related field; Minimum 2 years experience in the EP, an extensive network of contact is essential; Excellent knowledge of EP rules of procedures and internal dynamics; Proven ability to work with a wide range of colleagues in a multinational, multicultural environment; High sense of ethics and compliance to codes of conduct; Excellent English written and oral communication skills; proficiency in other languages is an asset; Ability to understand complex dossiers to deal with them both at aggregated as well as detailed level; Strong socialization and networking skills; No tobacco specific experience required. Compensation JTI is offering an attractive compensation package including base salary, bonus and other usual fringe benefits.
