GovNet Events is looking for a Programme Assistant to join our expanding team, based in Charing Cross, London.

GovNet Events produces a series of high level conferences, designed for people working in the public, private and third sectors. It is a division of GovNet Communications, the UK's leading Public Sector publisher and events organiser.

We are looking for a hard-working, intelligent and enthusiastic individual to assist the team in charge of event content and programme. Your duties will include: assisting with planning, organising and managing a series of high profile events; conducting industry research; liaising with stakeholders, before, during and after an event; developing and building harmonious relationships with speakers, sponsors and associates; providing marketing and sales briefs to relevant teams; working with the event manager on conference logistics; liaising with event sponsors on programme content; website updating; working with speakers, sponsors and exhibitors to obtain bios, photos, corporate logos for web and print materials; dealing with customer enquiries.

You will need excellent communication skills, written and verbal, and an ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines. Highly motivated with the ability to multi-task, you will need to have a proven track record of producing high quality work and display outstanding organisational skills and attention to detail.

Essential:

  • Understanding of or experience of working in or with the public sector / UK government policy
  • Excellent internal and external communication skills

Desirable:

  • Experience of event idea development, incorporating both public sector policy with an understanding of the commercial viability of the subject area
  • Experience of working in a public sector communications environment
  • Experience of working for an MP or Minister in an advisory/policy capacity
