The European Network on Debt and Development in Brussels is at the forefront of civil society efforts to transform development financing to enable more rapid poverty reduction.
The director manages a busy small team, ensuring high quality research outputs and good communication of key messages to target audiences in official institutions and NGOs. The work involves planning, fund-raising and reporting as well as writing and editing. The director represents the network at meetings with senior decision-makers, and facilitates meetings of network members to agree joint positions and actions. This is a challenging position, which requires the ability to provide direction across a broad network seeking to achieve change in vital policies that affect people across the world.
The successful candidate will have experience in managing a team, undertaking planning, budget management, fund-raising and reporting. He/she will have demonstrated the capability to work collaboratively on research and advocacy with diverse organisations while exerting leadership to achieve political change. He/she will be an excellent written and spoken communicator in English, and have a good working knowledge of at least one other major European language. He/she will have a strong strategic vision of the role of civil society in development finance, and commitment to Eurodad values. The position requires frequent travel, sometimes at weekends.
In the short term, fundraising will be a special priority.
