The American Society of Nephrology—the world’s largest organization dedicated to the study and treatment of kidney disease—seeks a policy analyst to administer the Society’s legislative and advocacy program related to kidney disease research and related issues. In coordination with the Director of Policy and Public Affairs, the policy analyst will manage the Society’s federal legislative efforts directed at increasing support for kidney disease research via the National Institutes of Health, Department of Veterans Affairs, and other entities. The policy analyst will represent the Society on like-minded coalitions, before Congress, and to federal agencies; monitor and provide analysis of legislative and regulatory proposals; prepare and disseminate position papers, articles, and advocacy materials; and provide staff support to the Society’s public policy board, committees, and advisory groups addressing issues impacting the research enterprise.

The ideal candidate will have superb writing and analytical skills and experience with the legislative and policy-making processes. ASN offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience as well as a comprehensive fringe benefits package.
