American Public Health Association (APHA) is looking for a manager of government relations to manage assigned legislative issues for the Association; manage federal grassroots activities, including the Association’s web-based advocacy tools and annual advocacy campaigns; manage logistics for and help coordinate activities for APHA’s Action Board; represent the organization in communications with Capitol Hill and federal agencies; coordinate the Friends of HRSA Coalition; manage the department’s internship program; and represent APHA at coalition meetings.
Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree preferred. The incumbent should have at least three years experience working in a government relations department or on Capitol Hill, preferably on health-related issues. Previous experience with online advocacy systems highly desired.
