Job Description
The Government Relations Representative and Manager of Grassroots Advocacy plays an important lobbying role for specific Congressional committees and federal agencies. This staff person also helps the Director of Government Relations plan and implement a federal and state government grassroots advocacy program for AAFP and will supervise a Grassroots Advocacy Specialist.
Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Education beyond a Bachelor’s degree in an academic field related to this position, plus at least four years of related experience. Specialized knowledge includes: Health policy and legislative processes; and grassroots advocacy programs. The incumbent must be able to present to a variety of audiences, particularly on Capitol Hill and at coalition meetings. In addition, budget management experience, excellent communication skills, computer literacy, and the ability to be a lucid and grammatical writer are required.
